Every October, Southwell holds The Bramley Festival to celebrate the origins of the Bramley Apple in Southwell.
The date of the 2017 festival is Saturday 21st October 2017
The Bramley is famous and much loved throughout the world for its unique flavour and excellent cooking qualities. It remains one of the most widely grown British culinary apples. This festival attracts hundreds of local, national and international visitors. A Food and Drink Festival is held in Southwell Minster and incorporates all manner of apple-related products, fruit specialists and craftsmen.
Join in the apple related competitions – poetry, apple pie baking, men’s baking, children’s baking, crotchet, knitting, craft and photography competitions. Entry forms will need to be submitted. Click here for more information
Throughout the town shops, businesses, Southwell Library, cafes, restaurants and local pubs take part in the occasion.
